What is World Mental Health Awareness Day?
World Mental Health Awareness Day: What’s it all about?
Monday 10th October is World Mental Health Awareness day 2016 where people all around the world will be raising awareness of the importance of good mental health.
Every year on 10th October, the World Health Organisation recognises WMHAD and this year the theme is psychological first aid. This could relate to the impact of global crisis events or the trauma caused to individuals by violence or abuse. Learning how to offer mental first aid can be just as important as physical first aid – it’s all about stepping in when someone needs help and knowing how to signpost them to support services.
