CASS fund helps United Communities run mental health activity for kids
The Emotional Wellbeing Fund has now been distributed to several groups in Bristol and we’ve been happy to hear of their activities. United Communities used their share of the funds to run a Christmas craft activity where young people visited a sheltered living facility to make decorations with the residents.
“As a housing association, we see lots of young people in the community who have a limited connection with others,” said United Communities in their report of the event. “We organised a Christmas fest where young people made Christmas decorations with older people. They experienced sharing, connecting and giving to others.
“[The group] also held a discussion about diversity, loneliness and isolation. The activity allowed us to explore feelings about Christmas which is an emotional time for many.”
The next round of applications for the fund will close on 10th March 2017. If your Bristol community group would like to apply for up to £1000 towards a children’s wellbeing activity, follow this link for details.
